Twiggy's Do's and Don'ts

DO'S
1. Always be natural. Putting on airs will only make a giggle out of you. Be yourself and if you don't know something say so.
2. If you like bright and pastel colours, wear them. They lift your spirits to the skies and you look much prettier, especially when it's a dark, foggy day, and people are in the dumps.
3. Take your problems to your mum. She's your best friend in the world really, and she'll help you figure everything out just right. She'll love having you turn to her because that's what she's there for.
4. Take your vitamins and eat the right food. If you live at home, your mum sees you do, but if you're away travelling a good bit, then it's more difficult and you have to manage for yourself.
5. Always have girlfriends. They're a comfort and fun to be with. Girls need to have other girls so they can compare notes on clothes and boys and things.

DON'TS
1. Don't ge around being a femme fatale and trying to take all the boys away from girls you know. Before you know it, boys and girls alike will hate you. You'll even hate yourself.
2. Don't weear to much make-up so you look like a clown. You need much less than older girls. Bring out your own beauty subtly.
3. Don't have elaborate sophisticated hairdos. You should wear your hair simply, in a style fitting your face. And the simpler it is, the easier it will be for you to care for it.
4. Don't let your clothes go wreck and ruin. If a button is loose, sew it on. And don't just throw your clothes around anywhere when you undress. Hang them up.
5. Don't be a nasty old gossip. You can do a great deal of harm and absolutely no good. And other girls and boys would stay away from you. If you can't say something decent about another person, then don't say anything at all.

Wise words, aren't they? I think they will always be very meaningful to teenagers for years to come.....
Speaking of Twiggy, here is a video on Twiggy modelling, with a little bit of her dancing too!

And here are some winderful pictures of twiggy, I just couldn't resist putting them up.
(as usual, all pictures are from weheartit.com)

And have you ever wondered how she gets her eyelashes to look so damn wonderful?
Well, here is the key:

That's all for now!

The Style Rookie

Tavi Gevinson has a fashion blog. It's good. Well, to be frank, it's really really good.

She began her blog in 2008, when she was 11 years  old, and the story goes that her parents didn't really know what Tavi was doing, until one day she had to ask her parent's permission to appear in a New York Times article. Since then, she has been featured in Teen, French, and Italian Vogue. Her head has popped up on the cover of Pop Magazine, and she is invited to fashion shows all over the world.Oh yeah, did I tell you that she's only 14 years old? Yup. Pretty impressive, huh? Everyone in the fashion industry knows who she is. All because she started a blog! (A really really good blog!!)
Despite her fame, she started high school last year, and is a typical teen in a lot of ways. She blogs about life, style, music, and all things girly just like most teen fashion bloggers.
The big difference is how she thinks and blogs about things. Her take on life is so sophisticated and also somewhat childish and fun. She is a wonderful girl, and every time I read her blog it puts a smile on my face.
I hope it puts a smile on your face too.
